When you follow one of these plans, your brain thinks its is going to starve, will tell your body to make sure it gets more food. The brain also lowers your metabolism so that you store more fat. That is why it is very hard to lose any weight while you are following such plans. You will usually not lose any weight, and actually you may gain more weight each time you follow these plans. The problem is really to keep the weight off and not taking it off. Most people usually regain most of the weight they've lost within the first five years. Being obese is a complex issue that requires many complex solutions. You don't need to blame yourself for being obese, because of a lack of discipline. If you constantly follow these plans, you could actually affect your metabolism.

Healthy Eating Plan:

You need to develop a healthy eating plan to properly keep your weight in check. Here is what you can do:

1) You don't need to be obsessed and worry about your weight and your appetite. If you do this, you will not be able to be in control, you only will end up worrying about food, and you may give in and eat more than what you had planned. When this happens, you will also probably start eating foods that are not healthy for you and over eat.

2) You should aim to eat 20% of your calories from protein sources, 20% from fat and 60% from carbohydrates. You should try to reduce your carbohydrate intake to about 40% and increase protein intake to 40%.

3) You will need to not eat foods that are high in saturated fats. Don't eat foods such as chips, ice cream, and also red meat. These foods are not healthy for you and will actually make you feel hungry.

4) You need to decrease your intake of simple carbohydrates. You need to take out all sugars. Eat only complex carbohydrates, such as those found in breads, rice, pasta, potatoes, fruits and vegetables. These types of foods will give you more energy and make you feel full.
